Choosing a Cranio-Sacral Therapy training:

Cranio-Sacral Therapy trainings vary substantially, not only in their approach to Cranio-Sacral Therapy but also in the resources and level of support that they provide.

Choosing the right training for you is a major decision, a significant investment of time and money, and a substantial commitment. You want to be sure that you are making the right decision.

In choosing your Cranio-Sacral Therapy training, it is not necessarily a good idea simply to choose the one that is geographically most convenient. It is also wise to consider the overall quality of the training and the resources that will be available to you.

There are a number of factors to consider:

  • is the college well established, with a history of effective training, running consistently every year?
  • does the course provide a comprehensive, substantial and profound professional training?
  • how many tutors will there be?
  • does the tutor team have sufficient experience and variety?
Does the training provide:
  • a Teaching Clinic for clinical experience
  • regular Study Groups and practice facilities
  • consistent tutor support, available between courses, together with personal support
  • a variety of tutors from whom to gain different experiences
  • sufficient numbers of students with whom to practise and interact
  • depth of experience
  • depth of training
  • a broad education in all aspects of Cranio-Sacral Therapy, with a comprehensive understanding of different Cranio-Sacral approaches - biodynamic, biomechanical, integrated, etc
  • a firm grounding in basic sciences and well-grounded practitionership
  • thorough preparation for professional practice
  • flexibility - does the training provide adaptability if your circumstances change
  • will you be financially committed if you find that the training doesn’t suit you, or if your situation changes
  • is the training fully accredited by the Cranio-Sacral Therapy Association, UK
  • does the training have a widespread body of graduates throughout the world

All of these factors are significant in enabling you to gain a satisfactory experience in your training and development as a Cranio-Sacral Therapist, and consequently in determining your whole future as a Cranio-Sacral Therapist.

As the most established college of Cranio-Sacral Therapy in Europe, the College of Cranio-Sacral Therapy (CCST) provides a wealth of resources:

  • you can be sure that the courses will run every year, as they have done for more than 31 years
  • there will be enough students to provide a plentiful and varied group of students with whom to practise and interact
  • there will be a correspondingly substantial number of tutors (there is a team of around 18 tutors at CCST) providing varied input, experience and support
  • there will be regular Teaching Clinics, Study Groups, tutorials, practice sessions, and tutor support
  • there is flexibility to adapt if your circumstances change
  • the college will do everything it can to provide for your needs from start to finish and beyond
  • you will gain an exceptionally profound and well grounded training, integrating biodynamic, biomechanical and other resources to provide a broad and comprehensive approach to Cranio-Sacral Therapy and a well-grounded preparation for professional practice.
